Why it exists
Threads has no save button. Meta built a platform people post video, photos and voice to, and gave nobody a way to keep any of it. The workaround most people land on is screen recording, which produces a compressed clip with the interface in the corners.
The tools that did exist had their own problems. Ad-heavy pages, sign-up walls for what should be a five-second job, and apps that stop working every time Threads changes something.
This was built to be the simple version of that.
Who built it
threaddownload.com was built and is maintained by Abdullah, a developer.

What it does
- Saves video from public Threads posts as MP4
- Saves photos as JPG, including every image in a multi-image post
- Saves GIF-style clips, which Threads stores as MP4 rather than as
.gif - Saves voice posts and video audio as MP3
- Works on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac, in any modern browser
What it deliberately doesn't do
Being clear about this matters more than the feature list.
- No private accounts. Private posts are visible only to approved followers. No tool can reach them, and anything claiming otherwise is either broken or collecting logins.
- No login, ever. You are never asked for Threads credentials. There's nothing to sign into.
- No quality improvement. Threads compresses media on upload. You get the best file Meta stored. Nothing here upscales, sharpens or restores anything.
- No watermark removal. Threads doesn't add watermarks. A watermark on a Threads video came from another platform before it was posted, and it's burned into the image.
- No deleted posts. Once removed, the file is gone from Meta's servers.
On reliability
Threads changes its structure from time to time, and when it does, every downloader breaks at once. This one included.
The difference between a website and an installed app is what happens next. An app needs a new version shipped to you, which you then install. A website gets fixed on the server. You reload the page.
That's the honest position. Not that this never breaks, but that fixing it doesn't require anything from you.
